Assistant Principal - Amanda Phillips

Amanda Phillips Head Shot

HOWDY! My name is Amanda Phillips and I am so excited to serve Bastrop Middle School as Assistant Principal for the fourth year. During my 23 years in education, I’ve had the privilege of teaching at various grade levels, serving as a district curriculum coordinator, and leading campuses as instructional coach, assistant principal and principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) and also hold a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M. (Gig 'Em, Aggies! WHOOP!) I aspire to help all students realize the vast potential within themselves, and to know that with effort and perseverance, anything is possible. I’m passionate about coaching and supporting teachers in their professional growth to be the best they can be for our students.

When not on AP duty, I enjoy gardening, reading, watching college football, and traveling with friends to other countries to experience different cultures around the world. I have a three-year old cat named Karma who's full of drama and keeps me on my toes!

You can reach me at aphillips@bisdtx.org or 512-772-7422 (direct number to my office). I will return emails within 24 hours and phone calls before I leave school for the day.

I’m so excited to make the 2026- 2027 the best school year yet! GO BEARS!
